The Planning Department at the City is waiting for your comments on the ClubLink July resubmission. Your approach can be similar to last October when you responded to the original development application. Check the Write to the City tab for help on this issue. We include some suggestions on approach and some topics you may want to consider that are specific to this resubmission.
It’s Time to Write a Letter.
This is a quick E-News today, first an important reminder and then some fun stuff!
Before getting underway, we want to thank you so much for all of the positive feedback we received on our August Update as well as our Financial E-News of last week. They were long and involved, but you are saying the content was worthwhile. We’re happy with that!
Tell the City Planner what you think… It’s Letter Writing Time!
As mentioned E-News, the Planning Department at the City is waiting for your comments on the ClubLink July resubmission. You need to have that in by August 31, 2020, just under two weeks away.
Your approach can be similar to last October when you responded to the original development application. Our website has a new Write to the City tab for this issue. We include some suggestions on approach and some topics you may want to consider that are specific to this resubmission.
You can include topics in your letter that you feel were not addressed by the City in its technical comments to ClubLink or by ClubLink in response! It does not have to be long. Bullet form is fine. Focus on your greatest concerns. Most important, make it your own! Send it off to
Laurel McCreight, Planner kanatalakes@ottawa.ca and
Councillor Jenna Sudds jenna.sudds@ottawa.ca and copy us here at the Coalition by sending it to my email below.
A Quick Survey about a New Event
Thank you to those who have submitted fundraising ideas, we’re making a list and hope to incorporate them into future events.
Meantime, we’d like to start working on an outdoor event at The Brookstreet Hotel that would happen in late September or early October. Without giving away all the fun details, you can expect it to include dinner and live entertainment under a large well-ventilated tent, with seating appropriate for social-distancing.
The Brookstreet has been holding events in this space successfully while following all current Covid-19 safety protocols. The maximum capacity would be 100 guests. Tables for 2, 4 or 6 would be available depending on how many people from your bubble you’d like to sit with. You would not be seated with guests that aren’t part of your group. Tickets will be approximately $100 per person. We will have a virtual component to the event for those that are unable to attend in person.
We want to hear from you. Please take a moment to fill out this survey to help us determine if this event is feasible: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B29CTTY
How about a new T-Shirt before summer ends?
We just want to remind you that we do have some T-Shirts still available and would appreciate your help to sell them out. Please stop by our shop. Credit cards are accepted and delivery to your door is free.
Thank you for your support. Good luck with your letters!
We hope to see you at The Brookstreet real soon!
And yes, we’re better together!
