It’s January… and we’re all about the ForeverGreen Gala.

We’re thrilled to announce our Keynote Speaker, Diana Beresford-Kroeger. Ms. Beresford–Kroeger is a world-renowned botanist, biochemist and author known for her outstanding efforts to preserve the Earth’s climate and forests through the use of ethical scientific and traditional concepts.  She has published over 300 articles and five critically acclaimed books on the natural world.

The Gala is now less than 3 weeks away! Come and join us as we pack the Newbridge Ballroom at the Brookstreet Hotel for A Gala to Honour Greenspace.

We are quickly approaching a sell-out with less than 100 tickets remaining.

Get yours online today!   Here is a sneak peak at what you will not want to miss!

Jean Teron and her son Chris Teron have graciously agreed to serve as our Honourary Co-Chairs.  It was the vision of the late Bill Teron to build communities connected to their natural environments and with that philosophy he shaped our wonderful Kanata community.   He also believed that residents should be able to live, work and play in their own neighbourhoods.  The KGPC is fighting to keep the Teron vision alive by protecting our open spaces and ensuring our green spaces remain accessible to us all.

It also gives us great pleasure to acknowledge our Contributing Sponsor, the Christine Hauschild Real Estate Team from Royal LePage.  We are very grateful for their support.
cocktail reception with the music of Dave Kalil will open our evening at 6pm.  It also includes a Silent Auction with lots of great items including getaways, jewellery, gift certificates, tickets, experiences and much, much more.   Like us on Facebook and you will get an updated list of Auction items just ahead of the Gala.

Of course, you know you can rely on the talented chefs and culinary team from the Brookstreet Hotel to deliver an outstanding 3-course dinner.

And just to make sure it is an over-the-top evening, our very own Kanata Lakes auctioneer Roy Carver will drive up a frenzy as we showcase some incredible items in our Live Auction including:

  • One week stay in paradise, at a luxury oceanfront condo on Jaco Beach in Costa Rica (Donated by David & Heather McNairn)
  • 4 tickets to Club Bell Loge – Ottawa Senators vs. Arizona Coyotes on Feb. 13th – includes parking passes, food and non-alcoholic beverages (Donated by Myers Automotive Group)
  • 16″x20″ oil painting of Monk Creek in March Township/Kanata by John Mlacak (Donated by Beth Mlacak)
  • One week stay at an idyllic riverside apartment in the village of Andlau in the Alsace region of France.  (Donated by Anne Mundy-Markell & Gene Markell)

We’re building a Wine Wall!

How does it work?  You can purchase a numbered cork for $25 that will entitle you to a mystery bottle of fine wine from our Wine Wall.  Not only will you take home a lovely bottle of wine … some of the bottles will have additional prizes attached!

We still need a few more quality wine donations to complete our wall.

If you cannot make it to the Gala, consider a wine bottle donation as the perfect way to support our great cause.   Please email events@ourkanatagreenspace.ca for more information.

And you know…. we are always looking for Volunteers!

The KGPC and our community would not be where we are today in our battle to protect our greenspace if it were not for our amazing volunteers.  We’re looking for a little help and a few hours assistance to ensure the Gala is a success.

We need assistance to set up during the afternoon (1-4 pm or so) and during the Gala itself (5-10pm or so).   If you can spare a bit of time, please let us know.   We are also pleased to provide our volunteers with a snack and refreshments.   Please email events@ourkanatagreenspace.ca  if you can help.

Tickets are $150 and are available online.   Car parking for the evening will be free.

If you are interested in sponsorship activities or would like to make a donation to our auctions, please email our events@ourkanatagreenspace.ca

As always, thank you for your support of the KGPC.  Together we are better!

See you at the Gala!
