eNews – Is this a road?  Ontario’s highways look like this. Time to say … NO MORE!

Is this a road?  Ontario’s highways look like this.  Whichever…stormwater will not flow through it.
Time to say … NO MORE!

Kanata Neighbours are Rallying to protect our Greenspace.  BE THERE!

Location: the sidewalk in front of the Kanata Golf Club Clubhouse – Campeau Drive, just east of Kanata Avenue.

We want to send a strong message to the City of Ottawa,  Doug Ford’s Ontario Government and the developers (Minto, Richcraft, and ClubLink) that the community is not backing down.

Who we are: We’re a group of longtime residents and community organizers who love our Greenspace and want to protect our community from potential flooding and toxic contamination.

We want our neighbours to join us. Bring your friends, bring your family, BRING A SIGN, and stand up for our community. We intend to be civil, peaceful, and law-abiding.  We will be following all local by-laws, such as staying on the sidewalk and not obstructing traffic or blocking entrances to private property.   Walk over (without crossing the KGC lands) or carpool and park nearby.

See you Sunday!

THIS IS WAY BEYOND TESTING!

Yes, it’s another bad picture for the eyes… and terribly sad for the heart and head.   What is going on? We have asked for the community to be copied on the Minto plans for the work underway that the city has deemed acceptable ‘testing’.

ENGAGE OTTAWA – Kanata Lakes Development is up and running

It was launched last weekend.   You can now find relevant documents and create your own reading list and develop your own questions.
Please make sure you register to get access and sign up for the city newsletter specific to changes in this development.
Also on this site is the response by Marcia Wallace to Councillor Curry’s January Council Inquiry.
In response, the KGPC has written asking additional questions about this  week’s construction and when the detailed plan will be posted for the community to see.    We have not had an answer, but we will watch the FAQ section.

We have also been copied on a very informative extraction from ChatGPT which resulted when a community supporter put questions to it to get an explanation of the above.  It is interesting and quite straight forward.  It seems quite obvious that testing has advanced to earthworks and site alteration on  holes 6,7,8 and 9.   Information is power…and we know that our Councillor has put this material to the city.

So, another week of surprises ahead?  We are also pursuing other options at the KGPC in support of city alternative actions.   One of them is expropriation.   When we know more, you’ll know more.

That’s it for now. It’s been a long week of ‘beep, beep, beep” at my place as it has for hundreds of you.   Turn it into positive energy.   See you Sunday at 1pm!

We’re better together!
